Copa America 2024: Neymar displeased with Vinicius Jr's substitution against Costa Rica

Brazil forward Neymar Jr. showed visible disappointment when Vinicius Junior was substituted during their match against Costa Rica.

The Selecao started their 2024 Copa America campaign with a 0-0 draw on Monday night. Despite being one of the pre-tournament favorites, Brazil failed to score in their Group D opener. They dominated the game, taking 19 shots on goal, but couldn't break through.

In the final 20 minutes, Selecao manager Dorival Junior substituted Vinicius with teenage wonderkid Endrick to try to change the outcome. Neymar, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, appeared confused by the decision, raising his arms in disbelief.

The 32-year-old Neymar, sidelined by an ACL injury during World Cup qualifying in October 2023, supported his team passionately from the sidelines, despite being unable to participate in the tournament himself.
