Arteta expressed his disappointment after Spain's victory over England in the Euro 2024 final.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed that he felt "sad" following Spain's victory over England in the Euro 2024 final on July 14. He mentioned that his sadness stemmed from seeing Arsenal players, such as Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, on the losing side with the Three Lions squad.

Ahead of Arsenal's pre-season match against Bournemouth on Thursday, Arteta shared his thoughts, emphasizing his love for his players and his desire for their success. He acknowledged the difficulty they faced in losing the Euro 2024 final.

Spain triumphed over England 2-1 to claim this year's Euro title in Germany.

“I’m extremely proud of my country [Spain], and it was a great moment for us to win [the Euro 2024],” Arteta said, as quoted by Arsenal’s website. “This generation had to really earn it in the last few years to get that belief. At the same time, I was sad because you love your players and you want the best for them, and it was a tough moment for them.”
