Transfer: Man City finalize £81m deal for the sale of Julian Alvarez

Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have agreed on a deal worth up to £81m (€95m) for Julian Alvarez.

Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing since the weekend and intensified in the last 24 hours.

Atletico Madrid confirmed Alvarez's desire to join them and submitted multiple offers. The LaLiga club will pay £64m (€75m) upfront, with an additional £17m (€20m) in potential add-ons.

This transfer will mark a record sale for City and represents a significant profit on the £14m they paid River Plate for the Argentina forward in January 2022.
