Southgate secures a new position after stepping down from England role

Gareth Southgate has taken on his first role since stepping down as England manager after Euro 2024.

The 53-year-old resigned following an eight-year tenure, which concluded with a loss to Spain in the final.

Despite his departure, Southgate has quickly found a new role with UEFA, ahead of the upcoming Champions League season. He has joined UEFA as a technical observer for the 2024-25 Champions League.

In this position, he will attend matches and provide analysis to UEFA’s team based in Nyon, Switzerland. His responsibilities include submitting detailed reports on games, tactics, and individual performances.

The newly reformatted Champions League is set to start on September 17.
