Messi identifies the world's top goalkeeper

Lionel Messi of Inter Miami has identified the goalkeeper he believes to be the best in the world.

Messi considers his international team-mate, Emi Martinez, to be the top goalkeeper.

Both players were instrumental in Argentina's victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Martinez also received the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award last year.

“For me, if he is not the best in the world, he is certainly among the best,” Messi told ESPN.

“He has been consistently impressive for both the national team and his club.

“Currently, he is a crucial player for his club, having helped them achieve their goal of reaching the Champions League.

“I have no doubt that much of the credit goes to him.”
